My name is Kat Sullivan. I am a pediatric Registered Nurse. I am a survivor of sexual violence, of homelessness, and spent 13 years in a repressive, apostolic church in belief that it could cure my PTSD. An old friend from school called me 20 years after my rape and told me that what had happened to me was wrong. They hoped I was ok. This was the first step towards facing my past and healing from my traumas. Believing survivors, listening to survivors, and helping survivors should become priority for all communities.
